Data Retention Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
At Teenvise, we believe that your family's data belongs to you. We only retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services. This document outlines exactly how long we store different types of data.
Location Data
Location history is the most sensitive data we process. Retention depends on your subscription tier:
- Free Plan: 7 days rolling retention. Location data older than 7 days is permanently deleted.
- Pro Plan: 90 days rolling retention.
- Family Plan: 1 year rolling retention.
App Usage & Screen Time
Aggregated screen time analytics and app usage metrics are retained for:
- All Plans: 1 year rolling retention to allow for year-over-year parental insights.
Account Deletion
When you initiate an account deletion from the settings dashboard, all associated data (including parent profiles, teen profiles, location history, and metrics) is hard-deleted from our active databases within 72 hours. Backup archives are overwritten on a 30-day rotation, meaning your data will be completely eliminated from all Teenvise systems within 33 days of deletion request.
