App Usage
UsageTime spent in individual applications on a device. Teenvise categorizes apps (Social, Education, Entertainment) and reports usage by app per day.
AES-256
SecurityAdvanced Encryption Standard with a 256-bit key — the gold standard for symmetric data encryption. All Teenvise data stored at rest is AES-256 encrypted.
Battery Status
DeviceThe current charge level of the teen's Android device, reported by the Teenvise app every 15 minutes. Alerts fire when battery drops below configurable thresholds.
COPPA
ComplianceChildren's Online Privacy Protection Act — a US law that restricts data collection from children under 13. Teenvise requires a parent account to manage all teen profiles.
Daily Limit
UsageA parent-configured maximum duration for daily screen time. When the limit is approached or reached, both parent and teen receive a notification.
Device Pairing
TechnologyThe process of linking a teen's Android device to a parent account via an invite link. The teen must accept the connection and grant required permissions.
Geofence
LocationA virtual geographic boundary defined around a real-world location. When a device enters or exits this boundary, a trigger event fires and an alert is sent to the parent.
GPS
TechnologyGlobal Positioning System — the satellite-based navigation system used by Teenvise's Android app to determine the teen device's real-world position.
Guardian
AccountAn adult account with parental access to a teen's safety dashboard. Multiple guardians can be added per teen profile (co-parent, grandparent, etc.).
GDPR
ComplianceGeneral Data Protection Regulation — EU law governing data privacy. Teenvise provides data access, portability, rectification, and erasure rights to all EU users.
Location Tracking
LocationThe continuous or interval-based recording of a device's GPS position. Teenvise updates location every 30 seconds (Pro/Family plans) or every 5 minutes (Free plan).
Location History
LocationA recorded trail of past GPS positions over time. Retained for 7 days (Free), 90 days (Pro), or 1 year (Family plan).
Push Notification
AlertsReal-time alerts sent to the parent's browser or mobile device when safety events occur (e.g., geofence exit, low battery, SOS).
Safe Zone
LocationA named geofence location that is pre-configured as an approved or expected location for your teen — e.g., School, Home, Sports Club.
Screen Time
UsageThe total duration a device's display is active and being interacted with. Teenvise tracks screen time per app and in aggregate across the day.
SOS Alert
SafetyAn emergency distress signal triggered by the teen via the Teenvise app. Instantly notifies all guardians with the current GPS location.
Teen Profile
AccountA child record in the parent dashboard containing the teen's name, age, and linked Android device. Each profile feeds data to the parent dashboard.
TLS 1.3
SecurityTransport Layer Security version 1.3 — the protocol used to encrypt all data in transit between the Teenvise app, servers, and parent dashboard.
